Dawn Stueckle
Co-Founder & Executive Director
Dawn has worked with young people in San Francisco for more than two decades, starting campus-based girls’ support groups at Lincoln High School and A.P. Giannini Middle School in the early 1990s and co-founding in 1992 the organization that would later become Sunset Youth Services. In addition to providing leadership for the nonprofit, managing staff, connecting with donors, and building relationships with young people served by Sunset Youth Services, Dawn partners with numerous community coalitions and city agencies as an advisor, change agent, and voice for the disenfranchised youth of the city.
In 2018 Dawn was elected to co-chair the Juvenile Justice Providers Association (JJPA)–– a consortium of community-based organizations that she helped establish in 2004 and which plays an important role in local policy-making, youth advocacy and has a strong voice in how funds are used to meet the needs of vulnerable youth.

Recording Engineer
We need a recording engineer to spend time running audio recording sessions with youth in our on-site recording studio. Previous engineering experience in a digital studio is essential. Understanding of sampling and looping would be a great advantage. Our studio consists of the Pro Tools HD 192 system with the Control 24 board. Knowledge of Akai MPC machines and sampling keyboards also a plus. Individuals must be patient, encouraging and able to work well with in-risk youth.
Video and/or Photography Production Assistants
We are always in need of knowledgeable volunteers to work with our staff as we teach youth how to plan, shoot and edit their own videos and photos. We use a variety of software including Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Animoto, i-Movie and Photoshop. It seems that there is always need for one on one instruction and assistance in the process of youth learning these complex programs. Many of our youth make music videos to go with their original songs which they record in the studio.
IT and Computer Experts
Currently our IT department consists of one person and isn't even his job! As our digital arts programs continue to expand our need for assistance with IT and computer related tasks increase as well. Our programs depend on having computers that run at an optimum speed and this requires regular maintenance. If you have the knowledge we can put your skills to work!
