Sunset District Neighborhood Coalition
Established by Sunset Youth Services in 1993 as a vehicle to advocate for answers to community needs, the Sunset District Neighborhood Coalition is made up of residents, service providers, members of the faith community, the police department, politicians, and others to primarily focus on the Annual Sunset Community Festival. Monthly meetings often involve special speakers from city departments and other institutions that impact life in the community.
Sunset Community Festival
Since its inception in September 1995, the Sunset Community Festival has been bringing together hundreds of residents from the Sunset District to celebrate the diversity in our community. With live entertainment from local martial arts groups, dance studios, bands, and a food court featuring food from the neighborhood, the festival has a long standing tradition of building community and has something for everyone.
